Demonstrating an Important and Valuable Feature

A former commercial aviator and RC customizer worked with us on developmental evaluations, and he remotely piloted this roughly five-foot UAV-scale HeliCraft™ research vehicle.  This operational series demonstrates another important and valuable feature HybriCraft™ technology (technology, markets) provides.  Because the basic air platform (BAP) converts the helicopter’s downwash, or high velocity downward-moving air, into a lower velocity/higher pressure air cushion beneath the craft, this vehicle produces much less surface disturbance.  Have you ever watched news footage of a helicopter rescue over water – where the rotors create such downwash that the water sprays outward in every direction?  The approach illustrated above – overloaded and above 100% rated power – does not even lay the grass flat, as seen here.
