1924

On 12th September, the "Speditionsbüro F. Walter", known today as LKW WALTER, was founded. The success story of the WALTER GROUP begins with the start of a transport business.
1937

The first employee in the company's history is employed. Today, the WALTER GROUP has over 5,000 employees.
1972

The groundbreaking ceremony for the current location in Wiener Neudorf has taken place. Today, the WALTER GROUP shapes the industrial center south of Vienna.
1981

The WALTER GROUP's second major pillar has developed out of the shipping container trade: CONTAINEX Container-Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H. With over 80,000 cabins and containers invoiced per year, CONTAINEX is among the largest suppliers of modular buildings in Europe.
1984

LKW WALTER organises the first combined road/rail transport. Today, Combined Transport, with an annual CO₂ saving of almost 400,000 tonnes, plays a key role in our sustainability agenda.
1987

The first construction phase of the WALTER BUSINESS-PARK is being constructed. The combination of office and warehouse space, as well as the excellent location, makes the complex - which now has more than seven buildings - an attractive location for numerous international tenants.
1988

With the establishment of WALTER LEASING, we use our financial strength to provide transport partners with trucks and trailers through leasing partnerships.
2023

The WALTER GROUP is launching its corporate venture capital arm. Under the name WaVe-X, we are positioning this early-stage start-up investor focusing on logistics, mobility, construction, and proptech across Europe.
2024

With the establishment of WALTER REAL ESTATE, we are consolidating the holding company's entire real estate expertise in order to leverage synergies from commercial, residential, and project development.
2025

CONTAINEX PROJECT was founded to develop the growing project business in the modular sector. In the same year, the WALTER CONTROL TOWER was created. As a 4PL logistics specialist, it offers individually tailored control tower solutions for companies with complex logistical requirements.
